Fourth of July Fireworks Nails

I did a quick and easy nail art design on my nails for the 4th of July.  It is featuring Wet n Wild nail polish in the Fergie line called Hollywood Hall of Fame.  It came out colorful, glittery and super patriotic.

I ombred my hair at home using the L'Oreal Feria Wild Ombre Kit

I was bored out of my mind one afternoon recently and after seeing some pictures of ombre or dip dye hair online I decided to try an at home version on my own hair.  I went to KMart and spent $9.99 on a L'Oreal Feria Wild Ombre kit in 060 Medium to Dark Brown.  This is what the kit contained:

Adding lighter colors to brown or dark hair can be kind of scary.  Needless to say I was a bit worried but I jumped in anyway.
Here are some pictures of the whole process and what it looks like afterwards.

 The color is on

40 min. later and I am ready to wash it out.  I can see that it is definitely lighter.  I am so nervous to see the result.

Yikes!  Too orange!  I did some research on how to tone down brassiness and some people recommended Loreal Preference Medium Ash Blonde.  The ash in the product tones done red or brassy colors in your hair.

It worked well.  Now I like the color!

Here is my new look from various angles. It came out very well considering I did it myself.  I think it looks sunkissed and adds some interest to my dark brown hair.  My hair does not feel damaged at all either from using two different kinds of dye.  I am conditioning it very well though just in case.

Here is before and after my diy ombre hair experiment.  Watch the video below to see more.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara

Rimmel London has come out with a new mascara called Lash Accelerator Endless.  I was very glad to try it when I received this product complimentary from Influenster for review.  It is a fiber mascara than lengthens lashes and it claims that after 30 days your lashes appear more numerous and full.  I haven't finished the 30 day trial yet but below are picture of how my lashes look before and after applying this mascara.

The things I like about this mascara is that the color is very black and the brush is thin enough that the application to both top and bottom lashes is easy and mess free.  There was no clumping at all with this formula either.

The things that are concerns for are that the formula is very wet and not waterproof so my lashes felt a little bit weighed down and they lost their curl when I applied it.  In the video below you can see that I ended up curling them again after I applied the mascara and that helped a lot with the curl. I do also have oily lids so I worry about getting smudging or "raccoon eyes" with a non-waterproof formula.

*Update*
Since filming this video I have been using the mascara for several weeks.  The formula does not smear like I was worried about so that is nice.  The formula is still a bit wet but I think it may be drying out a bit as I use it.  I really like the brush and the clump free application it gives.  I have not noticed any significant lash growth yet but it hasn't been 30 days yet.  I guess we will see...
